I was born in a mint near Mumbai. I am twelve years old and I was sent to Kolkata from Mumbai. You know, who I am. Guess, I am a two rupees coin. I am telling you the days that I nearly spent. When I was made I was shining but a man; who was carrying me, fell me down. I was sad. No one saw me and without seeing me they kept leg on me and went away. Soon my shine also had gone away. Days were passing like this and I was getting hurt in same brutal way. But one day a girl&#;s eyes fell on me. She took me in her hand and kept me in her pencil box. Her name was Smita. This new place was nice, cool, safe and better for me. I lived there very comfortably. I passed two to three days in this box . Whenever Smita used to open her pencil box she used to see my smiling. After seeing me, she was thinking something in her mind. One day Smita got a five rupees coin. She kept the coin beside me. Now I had a friend; with whom I

Essay on Autobiography of a Coin

Autobiography of a Coin:

I was born in the mines of Peru. At first, I was a part of silver ore. Then I was shipped to the Mumbai port and from there to the Government Mint, Mumbai where I was put into a hot furnace, melted, and given the shape of a coin with an effigy of an Indian Emblem on one side and ‘One Rupee’ written on the other. Thus equipped I found in me wonderful mobility to pass from hand to hand. Before I was two years old I had travelled into every nook and corner of the country. But at the beginning of my third year, I fell into the hands of a miser who imprisoned me in an iron box where I found myself amidst about five hundred other rupees that lay under the same confinement.

Oh, what a hellish place I was in! Here I lay in darkness along with my companions. All of us felt suffocated. Even such natural gifts as air and light were denied to us. The miser’s box was the worst type of prison. Not that he did not open the box. He opened it now and then felt very happy about counting and keeping us in piles. He was fascinated by our clear metallic ring and bright shining color. I was languishing away in captivity. But you need not im

An Autobiography Of A Coin&#; Paragraph Writing

Points : [ Introduction &#; glorious birth in a mint &#; description of physical features &#; journey to a bank – to other places &#; change of hands and experiences &#; conclusion.]

I am a five rupee coin. Unlike other, my colour is golden. I was born in a mint and thrown into a big sack with lots of other coins. Then one day, I was sent off to a bank. After a few days I was handed over to a fat man along with some other notes and coins. He brought me home and handed me to his only son. The little boy, seeing my golden colour and lustre, took a fancy to me. He held me gently, turned me a few times and kept me in his pencil box. Every day I used to go to his school with him. He never spent me. I liked his company as he took good care of me. He used to show me to his friends with pride. I also felt proud as they praised my look. One day a poor little girl came to my owner and begged for food. The girl looked very weary and hungry. She was so hungry that she could not even walk. My owner did not have any money to give her other than me. He was a kind-hearted boy and handed me to the poor beggar. Although I was sad that I pa

I am now an old coin and have been in circulation for many, many years. I am worn out now and the lion’s head on my face is very faint. But I still remember my early youth when I was in the government treasury, with my bright companions.

I shone brightly then and the lion’s head glittered brightly. My active life began when I was paid out from the counter of a bank, along with other new rupees, to a gentleman who got a cheque encashed.

I went off jingling in his pocket, but I was not there for long, as he gave me to a shopkeeper. The shopkeeper looked pleased when he had me in his hand, and said, “I have not seen a new rupee for some time“, and he banged me against his counter to see if I was genuine.

I gave out such a clear ringing note that he picked me up and threw me into a drawer along with a lot of other coins. I soon found we were in a mixed company.

I took notice of the greasy copper coins, as I knew they were of low caste; and I was condescending to the small change knowing that I was twice as valuable as the best of them, the fifty paise coins, and a hundred times better than the cheeky little paisa.

But I found a number of rupees of my own rank but none so new
