The incredible, dramatic story of the legendary country music superstar, Dottie West, has now been fully told. This book, assembled from exclusive interviews and personal anecdotes from those who worked with her, knew her personally, and loved her, sets out the unbelievable narrative of her life and career. It begins in childhood poverty in Middle Tennessee, moves to her remarkable rise in the Nashville music establishment, and ultimately to superstardom as a cross-over singer/songwriter/glamorous Las Vegas performer, and movie actress. With primarily never-before seen photographs, this biography chronicles Dottie's often controversial lifestyle. It is an intimate portrait of an extraordinary woman and electrifying performer who traded gingham dresses early in her career for spiked heels and Bob Mackie costumes, and changed the look and culture of country music forever: A fairy tale life lived with great passion and inordinate hunger for self-fulfillment, all the while with an exceptionally generous heart. To really understand Dottie West—one of country music's great all time legends—you must live her life intimately with her—as you will in Forever Yours: the Dottie West Story.
