L'artista e fondatore del teatro danza Rigolo Martin «Mädir» Eugster, è morto sabato all'età di 68 anni a Wattwil (SG). Eugster aveva fondato la compagnia nel con la moglie Lena Roth. La troupe ha poi girato in Svizzera e Europa con il nome di Rigolo Swiss Nouveau Cirque.
Eugster è deceduto sabato a causa di un cancro, ha indicato Rigolo in una nota odierna. La compagnia, con sede a Wattwil, verrà ripresa dalle tre figlie Laura, Nuria e Marula Eugster.
L'artista originario di Oberuzwil (SG), si è esibito con i suoi numeri di abilità e di equilibrio, fra gli altri, al Circo Roncalli, al Cirque du Soleil e all'inaugurazione del Parlamento in Svezia davanti a 6' ospiti, tra cui la coppia reale svedese.

Martin "Mädir" Eugster starb am März nach einem Krebsleiden im Kreis seiner Familie, wie Rigolo am Dienstag mitteilte. Das Rigolo Tanztheater wird von den drei Töchtern Lara, Nuria und Marula Eugster weiter geführt.
Eugster stammte aus Oberuzwil SG und strebte als Kind eine Karriere als Kunstturner an. Er wurde Lehrer, arbeitete aber nur für kurze Zeit im Beruf. Mit seiner späteren Frau Lena Roth besuchte er die Zirkusschule in Paris. gründeten die beiden Rigolo.
Später wurde daraus der Rigolo Swiss Nouveau Cirque. entstand die Balance-Nummer "Sanddorn". Eugster führte diese einzigartige Balance mit 13 grossen Palmenrispen weltweit über Mal auf. Seit lebte der Rigolo-Gründer mit seiner Familie und seinem Ensemble in Wattwil im Toggenburg.
Er zeigte seine Artistik- und Balance-Nummern beim Circus Roncalli, beim Cirque du Soleil oder bei der Parlaments-Eröffnung in Schweden vor Gästen, darunter das schwedische Königspaar. In Japan wurde Eugster mit dem Meister-Preis "Kamizawa" ausgezeichnet.

Überirdisch wirke dieser Gleichgewichtskünstler, hat der «Tages-Anzeiger» einmal über ihn geschrieben. in Oberuzwil geboren, hat Mädir (eigentlich Martin Wilhelm) Eugster zuerst das Lehrerseminar und dann in Paris eine Zirkusschule besucht. Mit seiner Frau Lena Roth hat er dort als Strassenkünstler angefangen.

The Sanddorn balance began about 20 years ago when Swiss theatre producer Mädir Eugster Rigolo created a balancing act for the stage production SANDDORN.
