What stirred your interest in the medical profession?
My interest was fired up in my childhood days by my late father. In fact, I was named after the first Mayor of Lagos, Dr. Ibiyinka Olorunnimbe, who was a medical doctor. Secondly, you will recall that in those days, the average Yoruba family wanted their children to be doctors, lawyers, priests, or engineers. My elder brother was a lawyer, so my father directed my interest towards the medical profession. The third reason was that right from a young age, I always wanted to take care of people; so all these factors put together molded me. As regards my area of specialisation, I’m a general medical practitioner and I studied at the University of Ife (Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife).

Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora, a Nigerian medical doctor and seasoned politician, has been selected as the chairman of the memorial lecture in honour of the late Professor Ayo Olukotun, a distinguished academic, journalist, and educator, which is scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, , at Lead City University.
Dr. Mamora was born on February 16, , to the late Chief K. A. Mamora and Deaconess E. A. Mamora, both of whom were community leaders in Ijebuland. Dr. Olorunnimbe was raised in Ijebu, Ogun State, Nigeria, and completed his secondary school at Ijebu-Ode Grammar School from to He attended Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (formerly the University of Ife), to obtain a Bachelor&#;s degree (MB, Ch.B) in Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Mamora served as a Medical Officer at May Clinics Group in Lagos immediately after his NYSC. In , he founded his private medical practice, Nimbus Medical Centre, in Ogudu, Lagos.
