We use nationwide data sources from three countries to assess safety signals of mainly GLP-1 receptor agonists and SGLT2 inhibitors (Björn Pasternak Group).

Cohort studies investigating links between head impacts in contact sports and neurodegenerative disease (dementia, Parkinson's disease, ALS).

Emerging issues in sexual health and fertility
Research program in collaboration with the University of Tokyo, with focus on young Japanese adults. Studies on the epidemiology of sexual inactivity and novel topics in sexual health research using data from national probability surveys.

Cardiovascular risk prediction and pharmacological prevention of cardiovascular disease
We assess questions related to primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease, including validation of risk scores and assessment of guideline-recommended treatment algorithms. Focus on antiplatelet therapy and cholesterol-lowering drugs.

Peter Kurzina is a Senior Lecturer in the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship.
Kurzina has 33 years of experience providing workout, turn-around, interim, and crisis management to a wide variety of companies. He was president and chief operating officer of Fanny Farmer Candy Shops, interim president of Vermont Castings Stove Company, and president of Westville Homes Corporation. Kurzina also has provided similar leadership roles to a number of other troubled companies in the manufacturing, distributing, textile, men’s clothing, and service industries. For 15 years, he was associated with Argus Management Corporation, the Massachusetts-based provider of workout, turnaround, crisis, and interim management to troubled companies. Kurzina joined the MIT Sloan faculty in and is teaching Managing in Adversity: The CEO Perspective and Corporations at the Crossroads: The CEO Perspective.
Kurzina holds a BA in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, a JD from Northwestern University, and an MMS from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
